Hello World,

This is blogger FiveTrey with a Q&A with model/actress Octavia Bowers. I first met Ms. Bowers back in 2003-2004 when we attended Dreher High School in Columbia, SC and loved her as a little sister. As times went on and pass by, we reunite via Facebook and took the time to catch up. When she told me she was a model, I was shock but not really. She has the body and look for any type of modeling. World, I introduce to you, Octavia Bowers.

 @Fivetrey_SCHG: Welcome to SCHG Ms. Bowers. Introduce the world to who you are and where you’re from?

@BowersOctavia: Hello world… as he said I’m Octavia Bowers.  I’m from the “MET” which is Columbia South Carolina but I was born in NYC. So at heart I’m NYC till I die but don’t get it twisted SC all day!!!

@Fivetrey_SCHG: What makes you different from all the rest of the models in the field and up and coming?

@BowersOctavia: I am so versatile. When I first started I did only fashion but then I slowly went into Lingerie. I just don’t have a Pretty face with a beautiful body. It’s about Personality as well …

@Fivetrey_SCHG:  @KeyJones803 and I was talking one day, your name came up in the conversation and we both said you can “America Next Top Model”.  I can see you modeling in catalogs and magazine from your photo shoots.  What encourage you to go as hard as you do?

@BowersOctavia:  Aww man Thanks ya’ll…S/O to Key Jones that’s my girl I love her sexy butt!!!  But anyways I don’t know; I guess I just figure if you’re going to do something do it. “A dream will remain a dream unless you make it real”, is what an old head told me and it kind of stuck. I hope one day to be up there with the former America’s top Models, but if not nothing last forever… so I enjoy every moment that I can.

@Fivetrey_SCHG: How long have you been modeling and what type of modeling are you into?

@BowersOctavia: I started late… I have been doing this for three years now and it’s crazy how time can fly in the blink of an eye. I am in to Swimsuit and Lingerie modeling. I hope to one day be in Sports Illustrated that’s a dream that I want and will work on to come true.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: What’s some of the challenges you face as a model?

@BowersOctavia: OMG challenges where do I start….lol…. Man, well in the urban world I don’t have a 40inch behind like some of the other women so that causes a problem; and then far as fashion they say my breasts are too big and to drop weight. So it’s like I’m stuck in the middle. But I plan to make my own way like I have been doing to show people you don’t have to be anorexic or Bootylicious to be a model.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Most don’t know that you have Lupus. Would you like to explain more about the disease?

@BowersOctavia: Yes I do have Lupus. I was diagnosed a year ago with this crazy disease. For those whom don’t know Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. There is no cure for this disease but every day I pray and I have faith…

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Did you know that Lady Gaga, Toni Braxton, Trick Daddy and Seal suffer from Lupus also? Do you use Lupus as a motivation to achieve your goals in life?

@BowersOctavia: Yes I did my research and some of those celebrities don’t have as bad as I do (and have medical insurance). It’s in my organs and joints real bad so everyday I’m in pain. But truthfully my son is really my motivation. But he helps me in motivating me to not let this disease get the best of me.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Offbeat question, would you like to see Marijuana legalize in the United States, and how do you think that will effect of economy?

@BowersOctavia: Yes I would. I think the Economy wouldn’t be so broke if we taxed Marijuana. I believe it does help with certain conditions like cancer, lupus, arthritis, etc.  So my answer is definitely yes

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Where do you see yourself in 1-5 years?

@BowersOctavia:  Man in 5 years I’ll be old lol but I hope to be on top with modeling career and have my own business. Believe it or not I want to go behind the Camera… so stay tuned you never know what the next move will be or what God may have in store for myself and you as well.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Do you think SC has the talent to be that next state to takeover?

@BowersOctavia: I think it could be if everyone was to work together like Atlanta folk do. I think SC people need to put their pride to the side and realize one hand washes another but they are learning slowly but shortly.
