Rezzie Roc (48 T-Roc) Q&A

CEO Rezzie Roc

Hello South Carolinian's and World,

It’s a pleasure to be doing a Q&A on one of South Carolina hardest working rapper, Rezzie Roc. Hailing from Columbia, SC (the Metro), Rezzie Roc career has span over 5 years. Growing up on 48 (Hwy 48 in the eastern part of Columbia, SC) in the Starlite neighborhood, music was his first love but the streets had his attention. Now, T-Roc has aligned himself with a strong camp and still gaining a buzz in the streets and industry.  With his mixtape, “What Carolina Been Missing”, Rezzie Roc is standing strong, looking forward in his music career and to help bring recognition to the South Carolina music scene. His hit single “Get What She Wants” featuring Suga Shane is gaining major media and social attention via YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and on Radio. Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce Rezzie Roc a.k.a  48 T-Roc.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: I want to say welcome to SCHG. We both grow up in the same city, just let everyone know where you from?

@48Troc: I’m from Columbia, SC and was raised up in a little hood name 48 (Starlite).

@FiveTrey_SCHG: You started doing music at a young age. What age it was when you pick up a pen and pad?

@48Troc: At the age of 10.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: How did it feel given the chance at a young age to be in a professional studio?

@48Troc: At a young age to be honest, I first hit the studio at the age of 14 and I thought I was on. Really didn't know the rules and regulation of the rap industry. The same shit grown men going through today, I went through at 14.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: I been listening to your music since 2003 and I notice change and growth in your lyrics. What do you credit that to?

@48Troc: Different life situations dodging troubles.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: For everyone that knows you, you went by 48 T-Roc but switch the name up. Do you think Rezzie Roc is a more marketable name and image?

@48Troc: Yes it is. I switch to Rezzie Roc because T-Roc is my street name. I don’t want to mix my street name with my music career.  And I notice a lot of rappers across the country use that same name.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: You are also a CEO, What’s the name of your label and who consist of it?

@48Troc: 48 Camp Ent. I myself is an artist, Rell G “Da Sickest”, L.A.G, B- Dizzle, Don D, Solja, Skywalker and Momma Dolla.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: What does 48 Camp Ent offer to the music scene in SC?

@48Troc: Originality, Motivation, and Unity.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: I see you wear your own clothing designs. Are you trying to tap into the fashion side of Hip Hop?

@48Troc: Later on down the line. Right now, I’m just focus on my team and music.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: You grew up in Starlite, a neighborhood off of Bluff Rd a.k.a 48, what challenges did you face as growing up and as a rapper?

@48Troc: Dodging troubles, being the face of my neighborhood, and putting a lot on my shoulders. I also give back to my community by giving out school supplies and offering my services when I can! All the D-Boys in my neighborhood including family, took my craft as a joke and I enjoy bringing it up.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Your new hit single, “Get What She Want” featuring Suga Shane, has been buzzing on the airwaves and online. How did that track come about and who produce it?

@48Troc: With the production from Bobby Kritical and DeeJay Lucky Leon. Once I purchase the beat, Suga Shane and I sat down and he pitch me a couple hooks, I fell in love with one of them.  Actually, he was unsure about the hook and didn’t like it. But I told him that was it!

@FiveTrey_SCHG: How do you feel about SC rappers running off to other states and putting on for them and try to come back and receive love from SC?

@48Troc: I think it very funny and I have little respect for them. That’s their choice and I’m going to do me!

@FiveTrey_SCHG: With the release of your mixtape¸ “What Carolina Been Missing”, what standards are you trying to set for the state of South Carolina?

@48Troc: I’m trying to take South Carolina to new heights. I have all the tools and missing pieces to do what I have to do. And a lot of artists that had the ball in their hands dropped it. I’m trying to put on for both Carolinas not just SC.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: I want to say thanks for taking the time out and answering these questions. If you have any shout outs or links, this is your time to represent and turn up!

@48Troc: Shout out to North Carolina and South Carolina, Columbia, SC as a whole, my team 48 Camp Ent, my hood 48. My extend family Bloc$tarr and 5 Star Empire, DJ D-Tec and Lucky Leon. Special Shout out to Mom Dukes, Big Swiv my road manager and my player partner Joc, who always down to put in, shouts out to all my fans and supporters that rocks with me throughout my career. Too many people to name, but I love you all! “What Carolina Been Missing” drops Jan 18!
