Greetings from SC Homegrown,

This is FiveTrey with a Q&A with female rapper Jazmine “MzHot16” Phoenix hailing from South Carolina. I previously did her mixtape review for “Sexxy in the City” back in the month of March 2012. She’s a real down to earth, humble female rapper and as you know female rappers don’t have much support from fans of rap but this young lady is next. Her lyrics, swag and performance is dynamic and she is not afraid to push the envelope on music or fashion! She is the President of the #BBC (Bad Bitch Committee) and have a strong following on Twitter, 2 accounts on Facebook and Reverbnation. She has opened up for Gucci Mane, Trick Daddy and most recently 2 Chainz. South Carolina and world, I introduce “MzHot16” Jazmine Phoenix!

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Welcome to SC Homegrown, can you tell the folks out here where are you from?

@MzHot16: Thanks for having me but I’m born and raised right here in Columbia, SC aka Da Met.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: I first heard about you back in February 2012 when you took stage at New Brookland Tavern and I was blown away. Just hearing a female rapper spit like you do, was crazy. What do you think Jazmine Phoenix has to offer the music scene of SC?

@MzHot16: Well thanks- I try to bring that level of energy and entertainment at every performance. I feed off of the crowd’s energy! Even if there's one person in the building I will still give it my best and rock it like it’s a packed crowd.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Do you consider Jazmine Phoenix and Mz Hot 16 two different personalities?

@MzHot16: Nah, not really. That’s just an aka it’s what I’m known for slaying every 16 bars. It’s my job to make sure every verse I do lives up to my name and my fans know this.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Your work is all over SCHG for example, “Combo” video. What was the motivation behind that song?

@MzHot16: Wellll, (lol) this was inspired by lame petty hoes to be real, (lol). I've seen women give up the goods just because a dude has a nice car or "think" he has money. I just wanted to put women up on game with the track and let them know not to sell yourself short with a little of my swag on it, (lol). Salute to Supah Mario for make me this dope beat.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: With your new single “Pretty Face” how is the buzz off the track doing? I need to get it as a banger of the week on here.

@MzHot16: Pretty face has to be hands down my favorite record I have right now. I recently performed it for the first time and the feedback was crazy!!! Everyone seems to love this track so there will be a video coming soon! S/o to Kenzo Delorean himself went ape shit on the track as usual.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Last month you opened up for rapper 2 Chainz, how was that experience? Did you get to politic with him or anything?

@MzHot16: It really was a blessing to be in front of a crowd that big with an artist of that caliber. I had a blast along with J. Andre Photography filming the whole thing. I had the pleasure of meeting his booking agent and gave her a copy of the mixtape and she loves it. So I will be staying in touch with her and see how everything else goes!

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Who do you credit most of your success too?

@MzHot16: First of all, the man above because without him I wouldn't even have this talent. Secondly, my mom because she is the backbone of my career because she is with me whether I’m right or wrong and always ready and willing to ride for the cause. Next my other half Kenzo for always being here and being honest and patient with me. He pushes me to be a better artist and person and for that I will always respect him. Last but not least all the people that rode for me and believed in my dreams just as much as I do and all my fans!!!

@MzHot16: My next project is "Phuneral Phoenix” set to drop this winter so be on the lookout for that. It’s going be a BANGER I promise you!!! You'll get to see a different side of me a more aggressive side!

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Your Power couple mate, Kenzo, is like a little brother to me. How is the chemistry between you two?

@MzHot16: The chemistry is bananas! Most people probably think I just met Kenzo but I have known him for almost 10 years so this is nothing new! We feed off each other and challenge each other to bring that beast out on every track. We just click on both levels so whatever we set our minds to its bound to be EPIC!

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Thanks for the shout out in your interview in Geechee One Magazine. It’s always good to see an artist support their local outlets in another local outlet!

@MzHot16: No doubt my motto is support who supports you and you go hard for the kid so I have to do the same in return.

@MzHot16: I see myself a successful rap artist with a number 1 album touring the world and working on my next dope project. Rap will just open the doors to other ventures that I plan on doing so keep your eyes and ears open Mz Phoenix is on the rise!!!
