Interview with J. Andre Photography

I had the pleasure to interview J. Andre Photography out of Columbia SC over the weekend. I first met them through a mutual friend on FaceBook. Checking out his work, I was blown away. The way how he capture life and everything in a photo. He's the Founder of Tha Steam Squad, which I had the pleasure to work with them too. Read more.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Where are you from?
@JusSaidDat: Columbia, SC born and raised all over the met. Been here all 25.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: When did you first know that you wanted to be a photographer?
@JusSaidDat: Picking up a camera and taking shots then seeing the response from other people. Painting their thoughts thru pictures and helping them get their vision out.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Who are your inspirations?
@JusSaidDat: As far as people I look up to Jay-Z, Percy Miller, Brand Jordan, moguls and great minds. My children are my real inspiration though. Understanding somebody naturally looks up to me and depends on me drives the fuck out of me.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: What are the ups and downs to Photography?
@JusSaidDat: Ups are traveling and meeting people from all walks of life with different perspectives on what you can already see. Gaining knowledge from each viewpoint in every situation opens your eyes up. Downs would be dealing with people not wanting to pay 4 the product. Taking this as a hobby while I take my craft serious. People not being able to be them when a camera is around are another down. Don't change just do you.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: How did you start?
@JusSaidDat:Buck TV saw my vision and believed in it. Gave me a shot, showed me what I needed to do and got me to take it serious.

@FiveTrey_SCHG What more do you offer than Photography?
@JusSaidDat: Graphic design, I'm a videographer, musician, Founder of Tha Steam Squad among other organizations, etc. “Chasing the money and creating ways to obtain it from different fields of entertainment and business”.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: What was your first photo-shoot?
@JusSaidDat:My 1st one was in a shake joint 4 a dancer's bornday party flyer. Wasn’t no more to it after that.

@FiveTrey_SCHG What were your goals for J.Andre Photogragphy when you started and what year did you start?
@JusSaidDat: My initial goal was to start taking pictures that weren't being shown. Very few posed shots, more interested in capturing life. The least expected shots are the ones people feel the most because they can relate to them. I still do posed shoots to give a wide range of product to view, but I'm stuck on real life, unscripted.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: What are some of the artists you have work with in the past?
@JusSaidDat: Locally I'm currently expanding and working with all types of people in general. As far as local artists I'm experimenting with different genres of music to capture the various outlooks on culture. I've worked with a few reputable figures in music and entertainment.

@FiveTrey_SCHG: What famous person would you like to do a photo shoot with?
@JusSaidDat: Assata Shakur

@FiveTrey_SCHG: Can you give the people who are interest in J. Andre Photography ways to get in contact via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail?
